Firm
Minato Audit & Co.
A financial auditing practice rooted in Aomori Prefecture, built for companies that want fieldwork they can follow and reports they can take to the bank or the board.
Origin
The firm took its name from the harbour towns along the Mutsu coast—places where cargo, ledgers, and seasonal trading calendars still shape how businesses close their books. We began with a small roster of trading and processing companies that needed statutory opinions without flying a large-city team in for every confirmation letter.
Today we still keep engagements deliberately sized. Partners stay close to planning, inventory observations, and clearance meetings rather than handing the file off after kickoff.

How we work
We write the engagement letter first, list the documents we need, and schedule fieldwork around your close calendar. Findings are discussed with finance leadership before wording hardens in the management letter. Independence rules are non-negotiable: if a relationship impairs objectivity, we decline the work.

Values that show up in the file
- Evidence over assertion. Balances are tested against documents, counts, and confirmations—not against confidence alone.
- Clear Japanese and English reporting. Draft findings are written so controllers and overseas parents can both follow the trail.
- Respect for close calendars. We schedule interim work early when year-end windows are short.
- Candour on scope. If the books are not ready, we say so before fieldwork burns your team’s week.
